  • MistaSweet - The Boogie Down Boyle Remix Files (2017)

Producing beats since mid-90's, MistaSweet cooked up a lot of beats, most of them in his Boogie Down Boyle studio in Den Haag. Testing if they were ok by putting an acapella on it was a method he used. These remixed tracks were on early social media platform Hyves and more and more people knew about these unofficial remixes. Artists like Mobb Deep, Cormega, Large Professor, Camp Lo and a lot more were remixed if they wanted or not. They had an acapella on vinyl so Sweet mixed it with a beat he made.
This file contains these remixes but remastered. The original files weren't working anymore so the mix could not be altered. Hope you enjoy these hard hitting bangers as much as we do!

  • MistaSweet - Grandma's Sweet Boombap (2014)

When his grandmother died in 2012, MistaSweet took home a stereo system from this special woman. He got home and discovered there was an LP on the turntable in the stereo system. The idea was born to make a dedication EP for her by using the tracks of the LP.
Finally in 2014 he worked it out and decided to make a boombap track based on samples from each track of the LP. Using drum samples and bass sounds from his library and samples from the tracks, he got wild in the studio and managed to make 12 beats (the amount of tracks on the LP) in a very short period.
After this it was time to work it out, mix them and design a nice cover for this special EP. He didn't think about what to do with the release, maybe some scratches on there, maybe some MC's? Or just keep it instrumental? The last was the case, although if MC's are interested to rock the beats, some of them are still avaiable!
The only thing is, you need to know the story behind the beats...
